About Derek

Excellence is more than just a word. It’s the mission every single time I work with a customer, both past and new, in their pursuit of a piece of the Southwest Florida paradise. Since obtaining my real estate license in 2013, I have focused on continuously educating myself on the ever-changing real estate market through industry designations and certifications such as the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), Resort and Second Home Specialist (RSPS), and C2EX. Through this additional education, I have been equipped to provide stellar service throughout any real estate transaction, and position my Customer to procure the home of their dreams without the stress that many speak of. My unwavering patience throughout the real estate purchase experience ensures no customer feels rushed into a decision that they aren’t comfortable with, but instead find the home that fits their vision!

While not practicing real estate, you will find me volunteering with our Local and State Realtor Associations in various roles. Current and prior appointments include Director for Florida Realtors & the Realtor Association of Sarasota Manatee, Chair of the local Young Professional Network in 2020 and Chair of the Member Engagement committee in 2017, as well as a past graduate of the RASM Leadership Institute.

Originally born in Texas, I've spent the majority of my life in Florida, growing up in the Orlando area and moved to Sarasota in 2013 after graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor's in Finance in 2008. Currently my wife Katherine and I are raising 3 amazing "Sarasota natives", Clara, Becca and Dylan.
